This bundle includes seven courses, Basic Doctrine (part 1 & 2), New and Old Testament Surveys, Holy Spirit, Doctrine of the Church and Covenants that provide an overview of the entire Bible and lay a firm foundation for the core beliefs of the Christian faith.
Basic Doctrine is a study of the most important beliefs of Christianity. The purpose of this course is to set a solid foundation for sound Christian thinking. Every other PBC course builds on these concepts. Basic Doctrine provides not only a foundation, but a framework for thinking; about God, his purposes and our lives. It's the basis of our values, beliefs and life's decisions. This class provides a concise and systematic understanding of the importance of those beliefs.
More than sixty percent of the Bible is contained in the Old Testament. Yet, the material seems so different from the life we live today that it can be difficult to see the merit of studying it. This course will bring these ancient texts to life by exploring each of the 39 Old Testament books in light of their historical context, circumstances surrounding the writing, author, date, and the primary messages within them.
New Testament Survey is an overview of the 27 books found in the New Testament, emphasizing their historic settings and thematic content. Each book is highlighted for its special contribution to the rest of Scripture, and its relationship to the other books. It will also help the student answer the question, what does the New Testament mean for us today.
When Jesus left earth, He made it clear that the Holy Spirit would be the key to fulfilling Christ’s purposes in and through our lives. This course will provide a greater understanding of the theological as well as practical experience of the Christian believer in the spirit-filled life, as well as endeavor to bring a greater understanding and experience of the walk of a Christian believer in the spirit-filled life. Both theological as well as practical emphasis will be given.
A systematic study of the Church in relation to the eternal purpose of God and what this implies for this present generation. In society today, many Christians do not see the need to be regularly involved with the local church. This course will provide the biblical basis for the place and eternal purpose of the local church and offer practical application for each believer's role in it.
An in-depth study of the biblical covenants that God made with humanity. These covenants reveal the nature and depth of God's relationship with us throughout history and are one of the main interpretative clues to unlocking the whole Bible. Their key elements provide the framework for understanding God's actions, especially in regards to the redemption of his people.
